đŸ—šïžTell Me, What Does Your WordPress Name Mean ?đŸ—Żïž

Hey, I feel like being curious today 😉

  • I wanna know what you WordPress name means.
  • How did you choose it ?
  • What does it say about your blog ?
  • What does it say about you ?

Me first.

Monaminga is my blog name (piece of news!)

It means young woman in Bulu, my mother tongue from Cameroon.

I chose it because I wanted an original name, one which no one else would have. And because my mother used to call me like that as a sign of her affection.

What it says about my blog is that I am a woman, young, that it’s multicultural, that it’s unique 😉

What it says about me is that I am from Cameroon, that I want this virtual space to be a place where I wish people from different horizons will meet and connect.

Now it’s your turn.

I wanna know it all 💕

  2. I wanted something different. At the time I had to choose a name, I remember I loved the word « atmosphere ». It looks like poetic to me.
So I used it with a touch of femininity!

It’s pretty and poetic, it makes me think of air, something light, but also spiritual, I don’t know why 🙂

🙂 Oh, this is a simple one.

« Renard’s World » is the name of my blog and since my name is, « Renard,  » it is a reflection of myself and the things that I am interested in; hence the tagline, « My Personal Space On The Web To Post Anything That Tickles My Fancy ».

Yeah, thanks for sharing : ) do you know that Renard means « fox in French ?

  4. Coffee is a small way the colonies refuted the crown. Tea was taxed by the crown whereas coffee was not. Bottomless refers to the rebellious nature of America, it never ends. 007, just because I think Bond is cool.

Wow! You really gave some thought before choosing your name. It explains better the content of your writings 😉 I understand you better now. Rebellious American.

    2. Monaminga dit :

And, I was wondering, are Americans known for being rebellious ? Or is it the new generation ?

      Aimé par 2 personnes

      1. That’s how America was founded, with a healthy dose of distrust and despise for authority and government. When America was founded, it was founded on the principle that the people control and limit the government, not the other way around.

Unfortunately now, people have become dependent on the government for free stuff. People have handed in their independence for a few dollars. Paper money at that, not even gold or silver.

  5. deyspublishing is my initials + publishing. In 2002 my grandmother became ill and family members from the eastern seaboard came to see her. It was then I realized that I didn’t want to see family at funerals only so I started a family newsletter. I wanted to get to know family and to share my poetry. 😊

You know what’s funny ? I thought that by choosing this name I would directly get « monaminga.com, or org, or net », they suggested « monaminga27548734528947 », I was like « what? I’m not the only Monaminga out there? » had to go Premium to have my personnal name. Shooot!

I chose therealcontemplations because at the time of creating a new domain I was contemplating my life a lot and many aspects too. ‘The real’ because what I wanted to write about was true and is always going to be real and relevant to me. I thought it represented me well as a person in that state but would also always be relatable thereafter!

I deleted my old blog and domain prior because I couldn’t relate to it anymore, that girl was long gone 🙂

Thanks for sharing this with me, I appreciate. It sounds very introspective Indeed.
There are moments of our life when we feel that we have moved on, that we no longer fit in our past environment, relationships, friendships, jobs, etc. It feels good to start fresh 😉

“Yonnie” is actually an Australian Name or now Pen Name meaning
    unique Stone or pebble.
InHisCare is a testimonial tagline that encourages me everyday. It serves as a reminder that no matter what going on around me, how I feel, whatever may happens, I am “InHisCare.” It is a message within itself. God is my total source. It was birth while seating at a dear friend’s FiancĂ© Funeral who died of Sickle. Three weeks prior to him being hospitalized, he had many question about God, Salvation, Forgiveness.
He was very different that day, finished in prayer.
We had been neighbors for years, but this was the longest conversation we ever had.
During the funeral his best friend shared how for two weeks prior to hospitalization that he had accepted Jesus as Savior.
As he shared the story a I started journaling, InHisCare

I have a straight forward name. I have used a shortened version of my name. I wanted to write about women my age( 50+) who are not taking an active interest in life, myself included. My blog aims to find interesting ways to keep them busy after they are done with the family obligations ( kids all grown up etc). I throw in advice about weight loss, dieting and other things of interest.

    1. Monaminga dit :

It is straightforward 🙂 short and easy to remember. How do you pronounce it ?
I love that you share you experience with the keto diet:) I didn’t know a diet could be based on adding fat to one’s menu 🙂 (if I got it right).

After blogging for over a year, I’m still confused when it comes to blogging « names ». Dailyflabbergast is a play on famous newspapers that start with « Daily » and flabbergast because I like to surprise people with my content.

    Aimé par 3 personnes

    1. Monaminga dit :

Great, what is the meaning of flabbergast if there’s any ? There are many words like this one whose sens I don’t quite get lol.

      1. floatinggold dit :

Flabbergast means to greatly shock. I blog about some things that can be controversial. Does that make sense?

  14. Rushi dit :

I love the approach to how you acquired your name Monaminga! As for me, Rushi (ăƒ«ăƒŒă‚·ăƒŒ) is « Lucy » in Japanese, although « RĆ«shÄ« » would be the proper romaji spelling of it, WordPress doesn’t allow those special characters so Rushi I am. As for the « who’s » part (who is) is just a common thought that flows through my head whilst reading the blogs of others, as in a « who is this person who writes about the same concepts I pounder, I need to know! » sorta ordeal, so I pasted it as the opening factor of my name., because my assumption is people have a kin way of thinking.

    Aimé par 3 personnes

    1. Monaminga dit :

Absolutely, that is why I love the « reblog » botton or whatever else it is called. Sometimes I read something and I’m like « omg, I could have written this! » Thanks a lot for taking part in my request I very much appreciate it. Rushi is very pretty and I would have never guessed that it means « Lucy », and do you know what « Lucy » means ?

      Aimé par 1 personne

  15. Rushi dit :

Exactly my thoughts! No problem, thank you for taking the time to give feedback, actually Lucy derives from the Latin word « Lux » which means « light » like in a daylight/dawn sorta way.

    Aimé par 4 personnes

    1. Monaminga dit :

« sondernyonder » – I chose it from a word which I found years ago while using stumble upon. I got fascinated by its meaning because its something I do almost everyday and never knew that there was a word for it. To sonder is to have that epiphany of how every being has a story to tell. I have always been boggled by the astronomical proportions of the universe and to know that same vast numbers plug into human thoughts is something of sonder worthy..

‘Slumdog Soldier’ is meant to be my first attempt at a historical thriller. I liked the alliteration of it, I felt it encapsulated the mood of the story succinctly while hinting at character, and it’s easy to remember. I’ve branched out with short stories & blogging advice since setting it up but currently republishing the original on a more regular weekly basis – felt it was worth revisiting my roots. 🙂

    Aimé par 1 personne

    1. Monaminga dit :

That’s a great name. But does it have Something to do with the slums ? I can’t help but think of that movie « slumdog millionnaire » 🙂

It’s based in a rough area of East London at the beginning of the 20th Century, so there was a lot more run-down neighbourhoods and rough terraced slum housing compared to today.
