Now let’s dive into the questions.
Who is you favorite Music Artist and name three things you like about them?
I love Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. I love their voices which are very powerful and vibrant. I love their lyrics, they speak to the soul. I think they are beautiful women. Ok, I prefered the previous version of Mariah Carey, I must admit. Lately I haven’t followed very much. As for Whitney, I watched a documentary on Netflix about her life called « can I be me? », I never knew she had so many struggles, very heartbreaking how her life ended.
How old were you when you did your first Creative Writing or Graphic Design (Drawing)?
I don’t remember exactly how old I was, but as far as I can remember I was always into some sort of art, be it singing, dancing, drawing, whatever. I can’t even ask my mum for that since it’s not a habit in Cameroon to take notes of the artistic productions of your children as it can be done in the Western world 😉
Why and How Long have you been on WordPress Blogging?
I had been thinking about blogging for a while, well not exactly blogging I didn’t know how it works before, but having a space online, where I could share my thoughts, what inspires me. Until the moment I started a blog, I would just write down whatever came to my mind on a piece of paper or in a notepad among the many that I carry in every bag just in case I want to write down or draw something. Writing has always been a way for me to deal with situations, planning. I don’t do creative writing, I don’t know if I would be talented for that, but maybe some day I’ll give it a try. So to answer your question, I started blogging at the end of August 2018 the day before my birthday, and it’s been three months.
What is your favorite Holiday, if any to Celebrate and Why?
Of all holidays, I prefer Christmas. There is something special in the air, people are very busy getting ready for their gifts, the Christmas eve’s meal and celebration. And as a Christian it’s a special time of the year that brings a message of hope and joy to the world. I often regret that Christmas has become another commercial holiday, but I prefer it like that rather than seeing the spirit of it die. I can’t wait for the Christmas market in town, drinking hot wine and eating hot chestnuts, I love all the illuminations in the streets. Very festive and a moment for families to gather. I also love the initiatives which consist of organising a meal for those who don’t have families or friends, the poor and isolated people.
If you were on the dance floor. What’s your best dance move?
I LOVE to dance, so it would be just any move. I even manage to dance without any music playing. And if you put some music on, there’s no way that I will stand still and just listen. I even dance on classical music ! Yes, I’m like a Boov in a movie a recently saw called « Home », my cells react to music instantly.
What inspires you to write?
Anything would inspire me to write, but I think all the books I’ve read, the talks I have with my friends and family, what’s going on in society, those are the things which inspire me the most I think. Since my blog is not about a specific topic I can’t really tell.
Do you find it challenging to write through adversity?
If you mean writing on the blog, I don’t know yet, I haven’t experienced that sort of difficulty. But I have noticed that when I struggle in my personal life, that’s when I write the most, I’m more inspired by sorrow and pain than by happiness. I have been working on it though, I have learned to reflect on the reasons why I feel happy and fulfilled at times in my life, it helps me feel and express gratitude and focus on the positive.
If you were offered an opportunity to live in a different country and write for a year. What place would you choose and why?
Oh, I think there would be many places in the world for that. But maybe to begin it would be spending a year in Russia. I learned Russian in highschool and can still speak and understand, but I would love to be fluent, so spending a year there would allow that. I love the Russian people that I have met, they are so welcoming, they can appear cold at first, but when they open their door, you are the king. They feed you like nowhere else, they take very good care of you. I spent Three months in Ukraine (neighbour), and it felt so good.
What is you favorite color?
For a long time my favorite color was purple, I love the deepness of that color, I think it’s bright and sober at the same time. Now I think I like deep blue, I find it very elegant and it’s less gloomy than the color black for clothing or writing for example.
Do you still enjoy using handwriting for your work?
I love handwriting. I do it a lot, that is also probably why it took me so long to switch to writing on the computer. I like forming the letters so much, you can tell my mood from my handwriting, sometimes it’s very light, and sometimes it’s deeper and bolder. When I write for several hours, you can even see the evolution of the way I write according to the subject. I think that’s something you don’t get when you write on the computer. At work handwriting is for the personal notes, it’s not considered very pro to use the old fashion way.
When is your favorite time to of day or night to create your work?
It can be any time of the day. I just need the space and time and the mood for that.
