Ave Maria

Une douce prière que j’aime beaucoup réciter eu réveil ou à l’heure du coucher. Version chantée.

A sweet little prayer that I love to say in the Morning or when I go to bed. Sung version.

Ave Maria

Hail Mary, full of grace. Our Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb,Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

  1. Where in Scripture are we instructed to pray to saints or any other dead?

I see where you are headed, and although I appreciate your participation in the debate, I’m not willing to go that way. I believe faith is an intimate matter, I’m not trying to convince anyone by sharing these things. It might not be written in the Scriptures, but there are many practices in Christianity which aren’t, people from other religions might even tell you that the Christian God is human, that the Bible is a fake, that we are mistaken etc., etc. You see what I mean? There have always been disagreements, there will always be. Regarding religion, I promote respect for all. I feel happy when I praise all the Bible’s Characters, and I think that Mary deserve a little tribute for her glorious YES which gave us Christ. I’m sure you agree with me. Let us all be artisans of Peace. Amen 🙏

You see, the thing is that you don’t pray TO the saint. Well, not entirely. You pray THROUGH the saint TO God. You ask them to « put in a good word » to Him.

Yes, exactly. Is that a bad thing ? I’m not sure to understand.

      2. Why not just talk to Him Himself?

I do that too jms 😉 It’s like the Relationship with my parents, if I want to ask Something to my dad or my mom, I will ask them individually, and will ask the other parent to support my request. Together, we are stronger !

You can, and actually SHOULD do that. One does not exclude the other. You can talk to Him, as well as the saints.
I think of it in 2 ways:
        – God is the president of the company, but the saints are the board of directors. They have their meetings and they discuss the issues on the agenda. Or God is the boss, and the saints are the secretaries, who help streamline things. Of course that is a gross simplification, but that’s how I see it.
        – Also, it is about gathering troops. In time of need, people ask others to pray for them. Why? Because there is strength in that. Same goes to saints. You want to have a whole team backing you.
