There’s a phenomenon I would like to understand better and I need your help dear readers and passerbys.

Maybe you know the situation where you’ve just met your Partner after being single for a long time, you feel good with the person and that is exactly when you start being asked out, and chased after. As if you’ve become visible all of a sudden. Or even worse, your ex over whom you’ve probably tried to get for a long time comes back.

In the Professional sphere, you change your work place or sector because you couldn’t find satisfaction anymore, and that’s when interesting opportunities show up. Or that time when you’ve finally found a job after a long and frutless job hunt, and start receiving four, five interesting job offers. Where were they hiding ?

How can you explain this phenomenon ? Could it be that when we are looking for Something, we impede it to happen at the same time, and when we are more relax, less expecting, then do we unlock opportunities ? Or is it that abundance calls for abundance and emptiness calls for Nothing ? I must admit that I’m puzzled and would like to know your opinion on that.

Thank you in advance and let’s take care of ourselves.

See you around !

Have you experienced that one in any aspect of your life ?

Not myself but have seen it around me. With people I know.

    My two cents!
We attract what we want deep within.
Imagine you’re planning to buy a car of particular brand and colour, you’ll suddenly begin to see them all over the road.
Once your thought gets into your subconscious mind, it’ll begin to translate into reality. There are different theories around it – it’s all about what works for you.
I’m a coach and a NLP practitioner and I’ve helped may people with this. After a person goes through the session I take, I’ve heard many come back to me and started saying that things have suddenly started changing.
    Hope that helps!

Thanks for your two cents Aditya, I’ve noticed that too, the fact that when your mind is directed to something, you begin seeing it everywhere. Like when I was pregnant I started feeling that everybody else was too, I would see pregnant women in the streets, tv, magazines, everywhere. That’s pretty astounding.
« We attract what we want deep within » I get that, but I’m aiming at the opportunities which show up once we are not available anymore, what happens when we are no longer looking for those things which makes them come out so to speak ? How can we achieve the same state of openness that we are in when we don’t put pressure on our expectations ?

      1. Aditya K dit :

« We’re not available » is what our conscious mind is saying. But we probably have sought it in our subconscious mind – that’s why we are attracting it.
How can we achieve it without setting up expectations?
I’ll answer in one word… MEDITATE!
Meditation, when done regularly, not only calms you down and become more aware but it also enables you to come in contact with your subconscious mind very often. When that happens, whatever you want will begin to unfold in reality.
The sad part is that it isn’t as simple as I made it sound.

Thank you so much, I truly appreciate the time you’re taking with me 🙂 I’ve heard about meditation, it’s the big thing now in France ! I read about the benefits one can find in that practice. I haven’t done it until now because I relate it to the practice of Buddhism and repeating mantras such as « om nama Shivaya « , but I might be mistaken. Have you written an article about meditation that I can read ? If yes, please post the link in here, it might help other people as well 😉

Meditation is catching up in the world. Unfortunately, in India, where it originated, many have very low regard for it.
Article on meditation – well, I’m a novice in spirituality. In fact, I’m at 0! A good start might be to download an app (iOS or Android) on your phone. It’s by a spiritual Guru named Sadhguru. It has guided meditation. If you’re keen, I can guide you.

Is there a secular (non-religious) form of meditation also ?
Why not for the guidance 😉

I didn’t write any article on meditation – cos I myself am learning. I don’t want to write something that’s not appropriate. For a start, I recommend the below steps:
        1. Sit on a firm surface in a comfortable position – spine erect, no back or head support. It’s easier to sit in a chair
        2. Close your eyes.
        3. Place your palms on your thighs, palms facing up and open. Loosely placed.
        4. Inhale deeply and exhale slowly at comfortable pace
        5. Focus on the area between your eyebrows
        6. Sit in that position for as long as you can. Don’t worry about the thoughts that cross your mind. Don’t try to stop them.
        7. Try to do it early in the morning – it’s more effective
        Hope this helps.

This is insightful. So does the universe actually conspire to give us what we really wish, what the subconscious mind wants? What if it never does!

Interesting question, can you help us answer to it ?

      2. Aditya K dit :

You’ve probably heard the quote by Mahatma Gandhi – « Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits. Your habits become your values. Your values become your destiny. »

If you start by thinking « what if it never does » then it never will!

I love the quote. Such a Wise man. Thanks for sharing this. I knew the quote, but I’ve just realised that I didn’t know it originated from him 🙂 Thanks again!

      4. parikhitdutta dit :

Indeed. Our thoughts become our habits. I think have a resolution works wonders in the matters of the mind but when it comes to matters concerning the heart, rationality and practicality seem to vanish. Say for instance, your partner decides to move out of a relationship that you assumed would be your permanence (although permanence is a highly debatable term). Clearly he or she was unhappy and chose happiness over choosing you leaving you shattered. Should you move on knowing well that life was meant to be with him or her? Or should you keep wishing that he or she will return? Will not that lead to wallowing in utter despair?

      5. Aditya K dit :

Well, one size doesn’t fit all. If someone prefers to drown themselves in that sorrow, then they will. And if one wants to get out of it, again, they will. Depends on what the person wants. Sometimes people want to come out but are unable to. That’s when they seek help. I’ve helped a few people in this regard as a coach and they’re all happy today.

      6. Monaminga dit :

You’re right, some people just want to experience their sorrow. I believe that there is something to learn from suffering.

      7. Monaminga dit :

What’s the point of crying over someone who doesn’t want you? I believe that someone who’s meant for me is going to find ways to be happy with me. It’s something you build together. Now, I respect myself enough to not want to be someone’s burden in life. So if my partner is unhappy because of me, if there’s nothing I can do to fix that, then I guess they are better off without me. The same works for me too. But then I don’t believe that there is only one person who can be my life mate. It doesn’t just happen, you build it together, you choose to do it everyday. The key is finding someone who thinks like you 😉

      8. parikhitdutta dit :

That’s so true! Happiness should stem from within and not someone outside. And yes if my partner is unhappy loving him or her would imply letting go.

Like you, I am trying to figure out what the Law of Attraction is. I am consciously making an effort to think more positively. It is a lot of work right now, and I imagine it will become more of my daily routine. I hope you are able to find success in your journey!

    1. Monaminga dit :

Thank you Miss Melody, it gets more and more obvious to me that, the more we are dispose to receive, the more we receive, and the more we close ourselves to possibilities, the less we get. I’m experiencing this right now in my life, and it seems that acting « as if » can set the mind to doing things. It’s not rational, it’s not magic either, but we need a certain amount of openness of the spirit. Thanks a lot for stopping by and for joigning me in the Journey to our simplest better selves 😉
